Lawson Cup Round 4 Update

By Tim Holland

Round 4 of this year's Lawson Cup competition was played yesterday, 17 Jun 15, with games in both Group 1 and 2.

In Group 1 the RLC hosted INF at South Cerney, with the home side running out 28-4 winners and thereby securing the runner up place in the Group. REME finish as the unbeaten Group winners. Both REME and RLC go through to the Semi-Final playoffs on Wed 08 Jul 15.

In Group 2 a very under-strength but spirited RAPTC/AMS side travelled to Wimbish to take on the RE, with the home side recording an emphatic 92-0 win.

The other Group 2 game was much closer, with the RA defeating R SIGNALS 32-24 at Larkhill.

With all the Group 1 games now played attention now turns to an intriguing end to Group 2 on Wed 24 Jun 15. The RE will be looking to finish with a win and gain home advantage in the Semi-Finals, but face a tough away fixture to the RAC in Catterick, who in turn will looking to secure a play off place. In the Group's other game the RA will also be competing for a play off place as they travel to Aldershot and will fancy their chances against RAPTC/AMS.
